Why you should celebrate Veterinary Technician Week October 15th - 21st. 

Compounding – any manipulation of an FDA-approved drug product beyond that stipulated on the product's label – is needed in veterinary medicine to provide individualized medication for specific patients with special needs not met by FDA-approved drug products. Manipulation might include mixing, diluting, concentrating, flavoring, or changing a drug's dosage form to accommodate a specific patient's needs.

August is immunization awareness month.  This is a good time before the start of school and later holidays to evaluate your pets vaccine status.

Animals hold a special place in our lives, and we strive to ensure that they are well cared for and treated with kindness and dignity. Unfortunately, not everyone is so diligent with the care they provide.  It is up to all of us to be aware of how we interact with our pets, and to also be vigilant to animals around us.  In this way we can all play a role in ending animal cruelty.
